Lot - Midi-Pyrenees - regional information

La Galerie Chambres d'Hôtes de charme is situated in the department of Lot, in the heart of the Quercy countryside, which is bordered by Corrèze to the north, Aveyron and Cantal to the east, Tarn-et-Garonne to the south and by Dordogne and Lot-et-Garonne to the west. Lot is one of the eight departments in the Midi-Pyrénées region of France. The departments of Tarn, Tarn-et-Garonne, Haute-Garonne, Aveyron, Gers, Haute- Pyrénées and Ariège complete the Midi-Pyrénées. The Midi-Pyrénées at the centre of southwest France is the largest region in France, with the forests of the Dordogne to the north and the Pyrénées to the south. The Atlantic coast in the region of Aquitaine, with the Arcachon Basin and the great Dune of Pyla, is to the west and the Mediterranean coast in the Languedoc Roussillon region is to the east.

The landscape of the Midi-Pyrénées region is extremely diverse with fields of open farmland, dense wooded areas, deep river valleys and gorges, belts of limestone plateaux or causses and high mountain ranges all with an abundance of wildlife. This region proposes many possibilities for activities such as walking, horse riding, climbing, canoeing and kayaking, cycling and mountain biking or simply touring and sight seeing.
